Festivalgoer passes away following medical emergency at Graspop Metal Meeting

It is with great sadness that we report that a 47-year-old man passed away in the hospital this morning after he became unwell at Camping Boneyard.
Emergency services responded swiftly thanks to the Graspop Metal Meeting MUG team, which remains on standby 24 hours a day throughout the festival to provide rapid medical assistance. Through the efficient cooperation of the camping crew, security staff, the Red Cross and the medical services, immediate intervention was possible.
Despite the prompt and professional medical care he received, the man later passed away in the hospital. All indications point to natural causes.
We would like to sincerely thank all crew members and emergency responders involved for their assistance and their swift, professional efforts.
On behalf of the entire Graspop Metal Meeting family, we extend our deepest condolences and send our love and support to his family, friends and loved ones.
Anyone in need of support or someone to talk to can contact the We Care A Lot team through the GMM app or visit their stand on the festival grounds.
Stay safe, stay metal.
